• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX A little project from downunder

I'm not sure if you know about this freeware scenery which covers an extensive area of Christchurch including the airport.

I'm not sure how outdated it is as it was uploaded in 2014 but looks absolutely beautiful. Would be interesting if it could blend into this scenery if it's not that outdated yet.

Hi Hector

sorry for the late reply and thanks for the tip, I will check it out and see how things fit in with each other. BTW nice job on WSSL :)

Out of curiousity, where did you find the measurements for the tower?

Hi, I was lucky enough to find the correct height of the tower (and other information) from the construction company's website and just worked everything else out from there. Official measurements are rarely available but if you look hard enough there's a wealth of information available on internet from which you can get a good estimation of the dimension of the building/structure of interest. I think there's also quite a few posts here and videos on YouTube teaching you how to estimate height and other measurements from photos.

Yes I use Orbx NZ.

I would also love to see a good NZCH. Sadly good quality intl airports are sorely lacking for NZ. We really need a decent NZAA (now a major hub for 77ws and A380s), NZCH and NZWN. Hope my little work will get more people interested in NZ :)
hey if you want nzwn here is a link to a good one, i use it my self!,
