• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Is it possible to use the Aardvark B727-200 fs2004 aircraft in FSX? I liked using tha Aardvark aircraft to re-paint and watch them take-off and land. I really miss them. Frank!

I believe that I have the same AI aircraft models in FSX as I did in FS9 for use with WOAI flight plans, and I assume that the only reason that I don't have the B727-200 is because there are no airline schedules loaded that use them. Who still flies the 727?

Purolator from Flightcraft, Fedx, and various other Cargo jets around the world. It's amazing how versatile and reliable this aircraft is. Frank!

Hmmm. I've got the WOAI FedX flightplans in FSX, but there is no 727 in the list of aircraft.

AIAardvark 727 does indeed work in FSX. I've been using it for over 2 years in FSX with lots of liveries.

If I'm understanding what you are asking, there would have to be a traffic.blg file with the 727 for it to appear in FSX as an AI aircraft.

I have used afcad and ttools in FS2004 and had quite a collection of aircraft flying in and out of my airport (CYHM). Now it's a new Ball Game. I have VISTA Ultimate with FSX acceleration and I have looked at the SDK. Is there a tutorial or a Flight Planner that is considered as an excellent choice?

I have a lot of FS2004 Cargo aircraft to be installed in FSX from storage.

Frank!

It is indeed a new ballgame. There are many great tools on this site. I use ADE and AIFlightPlanner.

You can decompile existing FS9 flight plans with TTools and recompile them for FSX with AI Flight Plan Converter.

Would I need the Fs9 installed on my computer to decompile? Frank!

No. All you need is the Traffic.bgl files. TTools will break these down into Aircraft.txt, Airports.txt and FlightPlans.txt files, which are needed to compile a new Traffic file. Are these traffic files you created for FS9? If so, I would guess that you have used TTools. There are other programs for dealing with FSX traffic, but I have found these to be the most reliable for me to convert my flightplans and WOAI.

I cannot use Ttools on my computer as it cannot locate FSX. Only Fs98 and Fs2004. Frank!

You cannot compile an FSX traffic file with TTools, so you don't need for it to locate FSX. It is only used to decompile an FS9 (2004) traffic.bgl file into aircraft, airports and flightplans .txt files. These are then used by AI Flight Plan Converter to make an FSX traffic file.

Actually, you don't need TTools because AIFPC can decompile an FS9 traffic.bgl file as well as recompile it for FSX (I think). I had a problem with this at one time and then used TTools for the decompile and havn't tried again with AIFPC.

The point is that if you have an FS9 traffic file that you want to use in FSX AIFPC is the proper (freeware) tool to make it FSX ready.

Just want to confirm what Art has already said. AIFP is the tool you should use for this purpose. Don has just release version 1.6.

I found some ai aircraft on a disk in storage from FS2004 and am now using AI Flight Planner and have three B727-200 Purolator and one B737 Mexicana cargo flying in and out of CYHM. I need now to re-paint the aircraft to bring them up to date. Thank you for all your help. Frank!

I am using VISTA Ultimate with FSX accelerator expansion. I also redesigned CYHM in ADE and designed the Buildings and Control Tower useing GMAX x. So far so good. Frank!

I have a slight problem with naming aircraft. I have 4 Purolater aircraft I'm attempting to paint and each time I start up FSX I get this notice. (See Attachment)
