• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v2 About fx_landing.fx

I want to simulate a spotlight effect on the apron at the airport lights.

I found that the lighting beams used by the aircraft were more consistent with expectations.

When I use the fx_landing.fx file, I can actually form a conical beam on the ground.

But when I copied the file and renamed it, it turned out to be a small light spot.

I am not sure whether this is correct or not. How should we solve this problem?

Thank you

In this phase I have analised the content of particles of airplanes effect and created a new effect file, attached to the object.
Latter on, I will add the fx_landing effect details in order to have the object iluminated when it passes nearby, but I do not recommend to use this particle effects because the frames drop a lot, but really a lot.

Why your effect is reduced on size, is complicated to know. How did you attach the effect to the object? ModelConverterX ?

Yes, I'm using ModelConverterX to attach

I looked up some information. Some people said that the fx_landing file and a function inside the SIM would have a conical effect, and your effect looks great. Is it implemented using the fx_landing file? Is there any modification to it?

I also revise the Face keyword in the fx_landing file, replace it with ground normal and place it directly in the place where it needs to be irradiated, but it looks a bit strange, the color of the object disappears, like a backlight, and the light disappears when the angle of view rotates to a particular angle.

Thank you

I also want to know a detail, if you use the lighting effect of your illustrations, whether it will produce light on the ground, it is like a spot of light.
Thanks for any suggestions.
