• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

I was wondering if there's anyway to get access to older google 3D building Views, like in google earth.

Hi Ken:

IIUC, you seek access to Google Earth legacy sketchup-modeled 3D buildings used before Photogrammetry replaced them ?

If so, see:

https://www.google.com/search?q=Goo...hUKEwiy75e63PKUAxVLADQIHQTVOLQQrQIoAnoECCYQAw

Note that many- but not all- of those legacy sketchup-modeled 3D buildings may be still found in Trimble 3D Warehouse.

Some apparently were retained by Google Earth for their exclusive use, and do not now appear in Trimble 3D Warehouse.

I do not know if old versions of web pages for Google's 3D Warehouse before transfer to Trimble in 2017 can be accessed via:

http://web.archive.org/

If you are instead seeking to use Google's 3D buildings used after Photogrammetry replaced the legacy sketchup-modeled 3D buildings, that can still be done for personal use only on your own computer, although it involves a steep learning curve.

Although GEDOT targets MSFS output, IIRC, Blender can be used with data copied in certain phases of processing to target FSX / P3D instead.

Sorry for the delay in replying to your earlier posts on this, but I have been recovering from a serious health condition that progressed in April 2026.

I am only now regaining limited muscle strength and endurance, and I hesitate taking on new forum posting commitments until I am better able to.

Additionally, I have IRL commitments requiring my time and energy for complex coursework that my profession must complete every 3 years.

I hope you can find more help here at FSDEV, in addition to doing Google searches using the methods I previously explained and showed you.

Best wishes with your endeavors.
