• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

One thing I noticed is that the separate html files have been replaced by a single compiled html file.

Hi Folks

George -
Yep, chm's not a good move.
An absolute pain, particularly for searching.

At least the've copiled 3DSMAX9 scripts but yet again they are out of date as we've (at least i've) already upgraded to the new version 3DSMAX 2008. I've yet to try the scripts with it but maybe a little forethought on M$'s part would be nice!!!

Hi Folks

Lamont -
Excellent find sir.
Will implement this later.

Much appreciated.

Have just tried to use the 3DS Max 9 scripts with the new 3DS MAX 2008 and yes, I was correct, they dont work!!!

When will the ACES team learn to write stuff for the CURRENT software thats available? Its a pretty poor show on their part.

ACES can only write scripts for the version of Max they use!

How can you expect them to write scripts for software they don't have available themselves.

Further, when those scripts were coded, Max 2008 hadn't even entered beta, much less release.

Applying a bit of "logical thinking" beforehand is frequently a good exercise... :duck:

The contents of fsxsdk.chm can be extracted :

Fantastic find! What the heck were they thinking? That compiled chm is a nightmare to navigate. I just tried to search it to see if they've implemented a 'zoom view to %' or 'set specific window focus' functions in SimConnect and couldn't get anywhere with it!

Oh, and they haven't implemented what I need, again. (Unless it's obscure and I can't find it.) Thank god for Pete Dowson and FSUIPC.
