• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Adding missing controllabel light to Asobo Gauge

What would it take to add this missing light, on/off controllable on this Asobo KAP140

I don't have a clue !!! Do the tools exist. ?
Could I do it without having to get into the 3d model, by maybe putting a suitable Text CIRCLE character there ?

What, is any, are my options.
If it's going to be a total PITA, I could always as something to display easily on the Display area, but that would not be realistic -- but better than not having the error light at all.
The light must be controllable .. it will be functional.

Also, the Buttons on this one do not light up .. on the RL one I believe they do.
Again, what am I looking at to make that happen, and be dimmable with the Instrument Lighting system.

However, the missing warning light is the most important issue.

(The standard JS coding going well -- it's no longer the "widow maker" AP)

The light would have to be added to the 3D Asset itself.

I believe there is an issue with the KAP140.xml for the emmisive but haven't dived into it yet (on my list for the Goose) and I haven't been able to get the HTML Gauge to actually show at all yet, have you? If so how?

My 1st venture into MSFS2020 Gauges. I am working on the default KAP140 - which as of today, from Asobo, is only half completed.
I am very familiar with the Real World AP, so I am trying to add a lot of the missing features.
What is missing on the 3D model (?) are the two error warning Character Indicators on the left side of the front panel, that warn you and tell you why the AP will not go active.
I have the gauges set up as a Mod, and am quite far into adding to the js.
First priority is to get its Functionality correct, then the more cosmetic thing such as dimmable display, the two warning "Back lit" Character windows on the far left of the panel.

Not sure what you mean by "I haven't been able to get the HTML Gauge to actually show at all yet," - I am using the gauge as a MOD in Community, and testing with the C172 Classic.

So far, I have got it to s state where, no matter what the plane is doing, turning it on will not put the plane into a totally uncontrollable state. ie the AP will not turn ON, if it knows it cannot take control successfully.
Does not help that the C172 (like so many other Asobo planes) are verging on dynamic pitch instability !!

I feel I am at a state where I know enough to know just how little I really do know -- so that is progress over thinking I know it all !!
