• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Adding Mobile Scenery??????

Hello,

For the past five hours now I have been stuck on my airport upgrading. Basically here's what I am trying to do:

-I am trying to add mobile scenery (ground vehicles) or ai traffic (groud vehicles) to an airport, without having to fly a mission to see it (for all of this I am using the object placement tool). My goal is to make a tractor look like it's moving the grass, and a bus to look like it's driving around. I have added all of my waypoints and it seems like everything should fit.

-Problem: I save the mission xml file. Now how do I get this to compile in BGLcomp? I've tried saving the work as a scenery xml file, but only static scenery objects are saved in the xml. Below is is an examaple of my mission xml. How do I convert this to have my moving ground vehicles show up in free flight?

I know that this sounds like a beginner question, but my brain is cramped and I need some advice!

Don't think you can make mission scenery work in free flight. It only works in a mission you create.

I have an exe or dll that will allow you to add scenery to free flight. My livingworld program (see my site below) allows you to add AI and make them move around specific waypoints.

You can also do this yourself in Simconnect - use the example program and modify it. Basically my program is the AI example with some extras.

I downloaded the program. Thanks, but it's not what I need. I'd like an easy way to make mobile scenery work in free flight, and be able to package it up into a .bgl so others can use it.

I am afraid it is not possible as only a BGL file, mobile scenery is part of missions and does not work in free flight.

The only thing that might come close is making the movement as an animation in the MDL object you are using. But it depends on the kind of movement you want if that is really feasible. Also it would require you to model the object yourself.
