• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Adding taxiway points to an existing taxiways.

I want to add a new taxiway point to and existing taxiway so that I can add a new taxiway parking with its taxiway and join it (merge) to an existing taxiway path.
I have tried using ctrl click and various other ways without success. I have also tried (object) taxiway point add which places a point anywhere which then can be moved but don't know how to join it the the existing taxiway path.
I have also looked at the SDK document without success (maybe looking in the wrong place).

John, the simplest way is to select the existing length of taxiway and use the “ Split Taxiway “ function.
This will create a taxiway node in the middle of the selected taxiway length, which can be dragged either way to suit your requirement.

Pete Beeby.

Thanks Pete. Worked like a dream as they say (it was actually "Split Path" and I also noticed "Split by Material" and "Split by Colorisation" which I must research for my own knowledge). Learning new things all the time.

Many thanks to Pete (and John) here as I am gradually updating my insight on how to convert FSX airports for use in MSFS.

I found more details on the above cited procedure here:

https://www.google.com/search?q=MSFS+"Split+Path"&client=firefox-b-1-d&hs=4Zg9&sca_esv=cd6edaa9cfb5e90b&ei=iClIaYnrBI6tp84P8dmH8Qc&ved=0ahUKEwiJz-Ldlc-RAxWO1skDHfHsIX4Q4dUDCBE&oq=MSFS+"Split+Path"&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiEU1TRlMgIlNwbGl0IFBhdGgiMggQIRigARjDBDIIECEYoAEYwwRIyzRQpw1YviFwAXgBkAEAmAFloAHQBaoBAzguMbgBDMgBAPgBAZgCB6ACnwTCAgoQABiwAxjWBBhHwgIGEAAYBxgewgILEAAYgAQYkQIYigXCAgUQABiABMICBRAAGO8FwgIIEAAYogQYiQXCAggQABiABBiiBJgDAIgGAZAGCJIHAzYuMaAHsyWyBwM1LjG4B5gEwgcFMC4zLjTIBxOACAA&sclient=gws-wiz-serp

...and in the MSFS SDK:

FYI: My recent scenario was not only how to address the above issue, but this one too:

https://devsupport.flightsimulator.com/t/how-do-i-link-unlinked-taxiways/3853

BTW: AFCAD / ADE FS2Kx display control via 0-Meter object width is now replaced by MSFS' 1-Meter minimum AFD object width.

Imported FSX airports using < 1-Meter widths are tolerated by ADE Fault Finder if using rhumbaflappy's ADE2020_Alpha_21.zip:

https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/ade-2020-alpha-21-hf5.455259/post-934220

Imported FSX airports using < 1-Meter widths tolerated by ADE2020_Alpha_21 Fault Finder cause MSFS SDK GUI to throw errors.

IIRC, when scruffyduck added the option in ADE to toggle display of AFD objects with the visibility flag, it was only for P3D ? :scratchch

https://www.google.com/search?q=FS+...4B4cFwgcFMC42LjLIBw-ACAA&sclient=gws-wiz-serp

If so, FS2Kx airports imported to ADE must be processed / edited by ADE version 1.79 prior to import into ADE2020_Alpha_21 ?

Well done Gary for your update on the procedure on adding points to an existing taxipath. With reference to ADE, I used it heaps with FSX but not feel very comfortable using DevMode in MSFS2020 although I did not know that (it seems) ADE can output file(s) for MSFS2020.
BTW I am adding more parking at Sechelt as per previous post here.
