• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX ADE Add Custom Ground Poly

Having made a square custom ground poly using the Helper shape and inserting a white number 7 as the main texture in the poly, all that shows in ADE is a green square...the number 7 is not visible. The poly is displayed correctly at the airport in FSX but if the number needs rotating for instance I need to edit the custom ground poly, save the airport then keep opening FSX and going to the airport to see what I am doing. I have version of ADE v01.70.6042 using Windows 7 Pro. Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Installed ProKey...."Hide Object" now enabled but when I click on Hide the entire poly is hidden....nothing visible.

I inferred from you initial post that you had two polys, one overlaying the other. If it's all 1 poly and that poly is square, what the problem when orienting it (assuming you appreciate in which quadrant the current orientation lies?

My apologies for the poor explanation Don. Yes you are absolutely 100% correct, there is no problem regarding the orientation. What I really was trying to establish was if it is possible to actually see in ADE how the poly was going to appear in FSX. In other words is there any way the number 7 could be made visible in ADE instead of just a green blank poly ? Hope that makes more sense.

I now understand what you are looking for, but the answer is "No". ADE does not display GP textures. Opening the poly in the GP Editor is the best you can do short of displaying in Flightsim.

That answers my query....initially thought I might be missing something to be able to see the texture. Thank you very much for your assistance.
