• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 ADE21 creating MSFS20 airports

I've just got back into airport design (for MSFS20) after a few years of absence from FSX. I've got the ADE21 Alpha software and have mucked around in it to see what works and what doesnt. I've got a stock airport nearly finished being refurbished with scenery objects that better look like the real ones. Its a daytime only airfield but I thought I'd have one runway as a lighted option. but didnt want to just light it up using the Runway Lighting options as it would be visible all the time. In FSX I could have a line of vehicles each side of a runway and using an aircraft default landing light fx for headlights and had them all at extreme complexity level so as they normally would not be visable unless that option was chosen. Is there any way in MSFS20 that something similar can be done.
Whilst looking into this I've also found a couple of comments about where the Effects folder needs to go when wanting to insert an effect into ADE.. i.e. into the PackageSources folder of a ADE project. I've tried that but ADE does not detect that folder /fx files within the folder. I get a script which suggests its trying to find the Effects folder within MSFS20... So, is this now a redundant function in ADE.
