• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Ade_gp 0.0.96

Hey Don,
Thanks for the reply.

I reinstalled your latest *.dll file and I am not getting anymore "edit" dialog boxes. Only a triangulation dialog box and dump list.

Yes I save my *.ad3 before compiling.

I reconverted taxiway_marks.dds to a dxt5 bmp file and now is working. Not sure what I did wrong the first time.

Finally, I've got your "enhanced centerlines" to work, I am trying to create the red box at the hold lines that US airports have been adding. I can create the red box, but have no idea on how to add the numbers since I cannot select in ADE GP editor. I suppose that is the part about adding new textures in the manual that I will have to figure out??

Anyway, thanks for the great addon for ADE and look forward to your continual improvements to FSX. (got anymore airport scenery coming down the road?)

Compile with the latest release (0.0.96(q)) doesn't prevent autogen from disappearing, even with 100m groups.
What's a "dump list"?

Yes I save my *.ad3 before compiling.
I asked if you saved the file after compiling. You made the edits during compile, so they won't be saved unless you re-save the AD3 file following compile. That's why you are asked to edit again on the next compile.

Don't know what "red box" you are referring to but, if it's a box with numbers on a red background, place one poly for the red box and another on top of it (i.e., at a higher layer) for the numbers.

Dump list

Dialog box with a button (dump to notepad). Creates dump.txt in ADE.

Mine right now:
The ground poly object(s) bounded as follows cannot be triangulated.

After your first response I changed my saving of *.ad3 to after the compile.

The red box is the painting on the concrete prior to the hold short lines. The runway number is in the box.

Thanks,

and so on ...
These are typically referred to as triangulation error messages. Since you are using the latest version of ADE_GP, I think you'll find that they refer to objects with co-located vertices or polys where one section of the poly overlaps another section of the same poly. If that is not the case, please send me your AD3 file so I can investigate.

The red box is the painting on the concrete prior to the hold short lines. The runway number is in the box.
Then you should be able to create it as I described in my previous post.
