• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

After installing AFLT, on startup this is the error I see

Thanks for reporting this, Jim. The executable in the archive appears corrupted. I'll replace ASAP.

Don

It turns out the error was inconsequential (a blank line in "types.txt" that I accidentally created and that wasn't handled properly) and could have been ignored. New archive posted.

Don

If you are connected to the internet, you should be advised of an update to Version 0.0.16 when you run AFLT. If no update, please download version 16 manually before testing beacons.

Don

For test purposes I had turned updates off in the .ini file. I will reset the No Check For Update=True
back to False and get the update.

Hi, Guys just downloaded the Airfield simulator toolbox, i have a problem installing it please help ?

It would help if you told us what you are doing and what is the problem you are experiencing.

Don

I am working on a mini academic project, on 3 airfield, i need to cleate and simulate them using led and then later see their prefomances, this project is one of my b-tech requirements.

Shiwana/Willem.

Willem, my query was not what project you are working on. I was trying to ascertain the details of the problems your are experiencing and what you were doing (or had done) when the problem arose.

Don

It appears you do not have Internet access when you start AFLT?

If not, open the file "AFLT.ini" when AFLT is not running and set the item "No Automatic Updates" to True.

Don

I do have the internet access but still not running... or what library should i use ?
When i Open "AFLT.ini", "No Automatic Updates" is False..

Willem

That error message results when AFLT fails to download the update control file at http://stuff4fs.com. Does it occur every time you start up or some of the time? Can you readily open http://stuff4fs.com? Is your link reliable?

If you don't mind the annoyance, then simply close the error message and continue. Otherwise, I suggest you set that .ini file item to "True" and manually download update when they are announced.

Don

I re-downloaded the software setting, but i can get the library files, may you please help with the files link ?

Willem

Pardon me, I meant i re-downloaded new AFLT settings, but i cannot get library files to run the programme, may you please help with the link or steps on how to generate for example the PAPI lights ?

I still don't understand. There are no "AFLT settings" to download. What file(s) did you download? From where? What do you mean by you "cannot get library files to run the programme. There are no library files (in the traditional meaning of the term). There is a single EXE fiole.

please help with the link or steps on how to generate for example the PAPI light
The procedure for generating a PAPI is no different from any other AFLT light. I don't know how to describe the procedure any better than as set out in the user manual.

Don

Hey,

thank you for this great tool! I hope I will be able to use it but I would like to ask you for some help please.

Below is screen of my test;

when I tried to create an element, the error poped-up (attached).

I am using Win7 with FSX. What did I do wrong?

Thank you very much for answering Don (or anybody else).
