• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Nope. AI require airports to land and proper parking/taxi links/runway to take off, which means you could possibly glitch a static oil platform to attract and land AI, but then you'd need to cram parking, taxi and some sort of acceptable runway onto that pad, to get the mto take off again. No vehicle hacked to look like a helicopter will take off vertically from any version of the sim thus far - MSFS promises to eventually add helicopter flight model support, otherwise no version of the sim supports true helicopter flight dynamics - and now you want to combine that into an AI vehicle and a moving boat.

It is an ambition that the simulator will not reward, thus far.

not 100% correct, we at AIG have been able to develop a tech-demo for a landing AI helicopter on a moving object:

And with a unique Helicopter FDE they operate like any "real" helicopter but this is only possible with SimConnect based AI traffic and not with BGL.

Very impressive. It might be a little more compelling, if your images include the red AI information, like this:

That is an AI I taught to take off and land from normal runways, using only simulator processes.

Have you conferred with anyone at FSDT, or FS2Crew? Ya, using SimConnect, these guys have completely customized the ground handling aspect of the simulator. I actually helped FS2Crew develop their addon, I created some of the models, effects and animations. One can literally take an unanimated model of a dog and make it sit up and bark, using external processes.

So I was hoping to use one of your models on an AI flight route, in one of my upcoming sceneries. I know it's a bit premature to ask, considering AI isn't even supported yet, but I remain optimistic. Is this a good place to ask?

so far this has only been prove of concept. But I am sure at some point we will add support for it to AIGTC (already incl. custom AI logic for landbased operations).

SWS is also able to do this. Also just a proof of concept, but incredibly cool

You could probably also do this in P3D using a scenario file (something very much like the FSX mission file).
