• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

AI....Flight plan.....

I find AI flight plans pretty messy and since I am very involved in a long scenery project, with several airfields I really don´t have the time to get into them at the moment. I will need something simple...I want to make AI aircraft to land and take off from these fields....Is there a simple way to make this???..maybe a routine that could be used on all the fields just by changing some parameters......Thanks.

You have worked long and hard on your airports. Don't mess it up by skimping on flightplans. There are many ways to create flightplans, but none are easy. Use default planes or planes that are made for your version of FS. In my opinion, the easiest way to make flight plans is with AIflightplanner. It is available at Avsim and other places, and there is a forum here at FSDeveloper.

Thanks Bob, I will check AIflightplanner. I think you are mostly right. I thought about putting AI planes in some of my airports but really as a very low priority, specially since most are out in the woods....

Another thought is to use a utility like ADE and put some static planes around.

Bob

This a do a lot since "airports without planes" look out of place.:D:D:D....I am also looking at how to place "sounds" on sceneries

Gera,

I half-way did a quick and dirty write-up on how to make AI flight plans using the TDBB program (the one that comes with the SDK). TDBB has some limitations, but if you want to learn how to format the text files it needs, here is the link:

I might add, I have done Aeroperlas and Air Panama flight plans using TDBB, I have them in my sim. Along with a bunch of remote airports they fly to, like Puerto Obaldia, El Porvenir, and Jacque.

I bet you know where those places are. :)

I ought to get around to uploading all of that, but I have only made basic airports (AFCADs) and have never gotten around to it. I wanted to gmax all of those airports, but that would be time-prohibitive for me right now.

Hi Rhett:
Will check your write up since I want to learn more about AI.
Great on Aeroperlas and Air Panama, they sure move all over the country and yes I flew to almost all airports here. I am presently re-making all Panama airports since as you know FSX has left many out. It is a long project which I hope to finish by the end of the year....

Thank you very much...

Gera

In Panama, I have made:
1) gmax of MPDA/David
2) gmax of MPBO/Bocas del Toro
3) terrain
4) ai
5) ade/afcads

Only #1 and #2 are uploaded. Gera if you do more missions you can always point users to use my scenery if you want.

The terrain is from Colon east all the way to the Colombian border and it includes all of the little islands that are missing in FS.

Maybe I should upload the rest of it. My scenery is structured such that a user could always delete the ade files and insert their own more detailed airport scenery if they chose to.

Rhett:

I have your David and Bocas airports and they are very good!!! yes I will point to them on a new Adventure flight I am working on right now....Please do Upload the The rest, much is needed of Central and South America in FSX....The terrain from Colon to Colombia I must have!!!!!!!..great, keep up that development.
