• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Airport Objects

ok i have been looking and looking...and short of building my own objects (never could wrap my head around gmax) i think i've hit a dead end in my search for this object.

I need a Seaport object, or just a big Dock that i can scale up, just needs to be something that i can place around some ships i inserted into the airport bgl that looks realistic and looks like the ship is docked with it.

Building

Hi Azeark1,

I don't blame you for only wanting one building without having to learn Gmax.
Although i do recomend you try one day. Because it is not that hard to use. There are many features that you will never use in your first five years.
So it just might look tough.

Do you use Object placers. They can be told the scale and direction as you park you aircraft where you want your building. So this is the way to add a building or dock.
There are many objects in RWY12 program.

Remember you can just scale the one you have. just change the scale next to the coordinates and heading on your xml.

Hope this helps,

well i know the basics of gmax...its mostly the texturing part i'm not patient enough to sit there and learn :/ And no never heard of/tried RWY12.

Have you considered using a library object, in FS9 there is {ce332e37-6a2c-443e-a845-8cf92ddbdaf4} gen_docksmall

If it is for FSX then there are several pier, jetty type objects in the waterobjects.bgl
