• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

hello friends , for days I'm trying 3d models of vehicles to add to my airport , such as buses, auto service , the fire trucks , the luggage carts , etc. etc.
any of you know where I can find them , I would particularly useful source files for gmax .
Or models such as those created by the group DOSCH DESIGN 3D .
Thanks in advance.

Hi Zen,

I can't tell if you mean static or AI vehicles.

The default static vehicles - every thing from a luggage cart to a Space Shuttle can be found using something like ADE, SbuilderX or for the brave, Object Placement Tool. The categories you are looking for are vehicles_airport, vehicles_aircraft and vehicles_land. (OPT doesn't use categories - just one looong list)

AI airport vehicles such as push-back tugs, fuel trucks and even fire trucks can be found in the Simobjects folder under Ground Vehicles (or something like that, I'm on my Mac right now and don't have access to FSX). That said, I haven't taken the plunge and added AI airport traffic to an airport. From what I've observed, I think you need to have vehicle "paths" in addition to taxiways. I have no idea how/where to place the vehicles or how to get them moving other than to call for a fuel truck (Ctrl F?). It can be done–I've seen pickup trucks and fire engines wandering around airports–just have no idea how to get it to work. Perhaps something in the Wiki?

That said, I have noticed that when you modify and airport and add a GATE–commercial plane parking–many time a pushback tug and baggage cart/load will just appear…but it seems to be random.

Hope this helps.

As per hanger32's post if they are static models you can place them with ADE

If you want the vehicles to travel from parking spot to parking spot that is called ambient traffic. The models are in the FSX\SimObjects\Groundvehicles folder. You add them in the LWcfg file which then calls them as per their file name such as, <ContainerTitle>VEH_Air_FireTruck_Euro_sm. You must also place them in the correct Region your airport is listed in.

All Gate type parking spots are coded with the pushback, conveyor and baggage cart type vehicles. The Cargo Parking Spot is coded with only a pushback vehicle.

NOTE:

Animated vehicles (ambient traffic) that travel from parking spot to parking spot only show up at airports that have GATE and CARGO type parking spots. The more GATES and CARGO parking the more animated traffic will spawn. Animated vehicles should have their own vehicle taxi network to travel on so they do not interfer with taxing airplanes.

thanks guys for the answers, but I fear that I have explained myself badly, the version I'm using for the project is FS2004.
I'm looking for suggestions on where to find 3d models for uploading to Gmax and then be able to export in BGL on FS2004, both as vehicles either as static animations.
I thank you too for your attention and renewed demand someone else.
greetings
