• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Arno,... Hello,...

I know you have the alpha click within the material editor of MCX, would it be possible to add that to the minimizer as well,.. I know you plan on joining these up (material and minimizer/convert tabs.... ) together,.. maybe have it pop up with the diffuse and the alpha side my side, maybe?

so in that sense you can even remove the alpha click,... if when mouse goes over the name of the diffuse both the diffuse and alpha of that texture appears.

Hi,

What would the alpha button do in the drawcall minimizer? Now the other material settings are untouched when minimizing, it is just the textures that are combined.

Well,.. I know your planning to combine the 3 ( Material Editor, Mass Texture Editor, and Drawcall Minimizer),... I'm only suggesting that like the Mass Texture Editor, a pop up screen shows the diffuse along with its size underneath when the mouse is over the name of the Texture,... would it be possible to also show the Alpha at that time? or within the Material Editor having it show both the diffuse along with the alpha side by side. I don't think that this would be useful within the drawcall minimizer, unless or when the user can choose which textures to minimize (getting a visual of which textures) to combine into a single texture sheet.

Or did I misunderstand what your asking?

Hi,

Ah, thanks, now I get it. I misunderstood you and thought you wanted a "Set Default Transparent" button on the drawcall minimizer as well.

In the current alpha version the texture part of the new material editor looks like the attached image. I still have to see how to show the alpha channel in there. I would prefer to show a picture of it.

Great,... then I didn't have to ask,... it was already there or in the works! :D
Thanks again, Arno!
