• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Andrews Airforce Base

I found last night and installed a free scenery I think is worth mentioning due to its high quality. Who would not dream of taxiing near by Airforce 1?

The scenery is of Andrews Airforce Base. It is developed by a German developer, Uwe Kunzak. You can download the installation package (V2) from his web site: http://flightsim.siteconsult.de/pages/sceneries/sceneries.htm

I was very impressed by how neat the AFCAD is and how good the 'dirty' aprons look. The buildings look great too. One can tell the CPU & GPU are puffing while in chase view but once in the cockpit it's all good and smooth.

As described by the author in his (perfect) documentation including airport diagram and data, you can install AI from the MAIW packages (2).

Congratulations Uwe, I thought you deserved to be mentioned here on this forum.

It looks really delicious. Unfortunately I quite eating FS9 some years ago...

...although it's still installed of course, but only so I can test aircraft projects that I still am working on for Eaglesoft.

I don't think I've ever looked at FSX's Andrews AFB yet. I may just d/l this just in case it might look nicer than the default... :D

The latest version of this scenery (title: KADW Joint Base Andrews Naval Air Facility, Maryland, USA (Andrews Air Force Base)) is available on AVSIM.net and FlightSim.com.

This scenery is primary designed for FS2004 - but works on FSX as well. There are some small bugs in FSX, but I've tested KADW on FSX and I guess it works in general.
