• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Well, this is what I've accomplished so far. I have some fine tuning to do on the shape of the tail, but thought I'd share this so far....

I also need to get the nose just right, but otherwise, it's your basic Angels shape. Going to be starting other exterior refinements, then moving on to the interior afterwar. I hope you all like her.

Sorry for more renders, but there'll be an in sim screen shot coming soon I hope. Having install issues still with the configure paths on the SDK.

As I'm looking at this, do the wings look like they need to be longer? Not sure if its just me not seeing it right....

Going to do the engine mounts and Cowling this week, maybe tomorrow after flying a bit since I haven't flown in a LONG time.

Have a good one everyone -- hope you like my work, and thank you all for the advice on the windows. Works out great, with a few adjustments on my own with it....

I don't know -- I'm just not satisfied. Version 1.3 of fuselage/wings coming soon......the joys of 3D modeling....:)

The polys between the windows look a bit rough. They might need some adjustment or be smoothed anew.
At least that's what the highlights give away.

But all in all, good job so far. You'll get there!

Thanks Bjoern, at least with version 1.3 of the fuselage, it might be right. Windows need to be a bit more square with rounded corners only. Have to reshape those, so it will probably help.

At least I'm getting into the hang of shaping the fusalge, that helps! :).

Appreciate the compliments on my work so far...:)

I have to ask, but are you using the 3 view schematic provided by Angel Aircraft?

It just seems to me like the windows are too big, the fuse is short and incorrect among other imperfections. I am a big fan of the Angel 44 and would like to see it in FSX. I recommend you check out the aircraft brochure for the 3 views.

Delta,

Just so you know, I've done a COMPLETE overhaul of the fuselage and wings.

I'll be posting new renders shortly. I just didn't like them the way they came out too -- (The too large a size, it just didn't look right) and glad I did them over. They look MUCH more accurate now.

I was using the brochure, but the match to viewport instead of bitmap, which I think was the problem.

I'll be posting a new set of renders tomorrow night probably. Thanks for your interest in the Angels, and I'll hope you will follow the progress....:)

I knew nothing about this plane, so I Googled (as the standard substitute for knowledge on anything)

A really interesting aircraft to do, STOL under 700ft!

Are there 3 view pics available?

Oh ... Those ones. ::)

So is that what you are using John?

Very hard to get proportions correct without.

Yes, I am using the 3 View Diagram, however with Gmax, I find it difficult with the window set up. I have to use match view port, because if I match the bitmap, things just don't look right. I've also made tons of revisions. I now have the window sections nice and smooth, glass lined up between fuselage and window, windhield smoothly placed, and I'll be getting more previews uploaded soon.

Thanks all for your interest, sorry I haven't been around lately -- been trying to deal with some issues with the FSTools which are finally working, (thank God) and will now be back to the modeling.

Will post more previews soon. As I've said, done TONS of revisions too.

I'll be posting an update later today (I hope) No FS Compile yet, shows where the errors are that need to be made when I do an export, it isn't that bad to fix (I hope again).

With getting the aircraft manufacturer's help on this, I want it as PERFECT as possible as well....:)

I would not use the Viewport background at all.

It is better to apply to a box (or Bill Learning's transparent planes!) and scale accurately before you do anything else.

You need truly accurate corresponding views to get the aircraft exactly proportioned.

Thank you so much for that tip! I really appreciate that one.

Will help. Fuselage 1.4 may be coming up, but I'll post what I've done so far and ask advice. We'll see how it came out so far.

Thanks for that extra added bonus of a tip in that.

See, I don't know why MS describes a way to do things, only to find it's not the best.
