• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Animation - how to block child's rotation

Hello guys.
Actually I have one problem that I can't solve easly and another one that is probably more known.

I am animating an observation wheel and obviously there are some cars on the wheel. The wheel construction is a parent and it rotates the cars. Cars are fixed in a wright position (top of each). My goal is to block the cars' rotation while animating the parent - wheel main construction. Wheel is rotating but cars should just change their position without a rotation. What is the way to do that?
And just one more question (would appreciate a link): how to program properly a 360 degree tick18_ animation? The problem is it doesn't want to be 360 - it changes back to 0 or if animation is f/e 359 it prefers -1. I can do that by applying more frames but I am sure there is better way.
Thanks a lot. I appreciate your help.

Nick - If you recall, one of the Commandments of the Laws of Flightsim Design Forums is that:

A Fix To A Problem Shall Not Be Kept Secret.

Ok, sorry. A link to a Polish board will not satisfy you :)

In the beginning I was trying to make the first and final positions of the wheel and then the frames between. That was wrong. It was enough to make just 5 frames (every 90 degr) to make it move properly.

If talking about children and parents - the is a Link Info button (next to Pivot and IK) and you can mark what movement you would like to get from a parent (inherits). Anyway, I finished my scenery for fs9 and the animation works fine now.

Thanks, best regards
