• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Animation Multiple Jetway

My question is how can I make a jetway animated to different heights ..... The height of a B747 with Nav2 112.00 and a lowest Md80 with Nav2 113.00? The animation is done separately in the gmax? And as this is done in multiple cat?

Thanks

Hi,

For each height you would have to make a separate animation in GMax. Then you can use them as secondary conditions in CAT with the variable that you want.

Be careful, all these animations need the same amount of keyframes.

I am confused where it is not (keyframes) you could explain a little more detail, the error that gives me is that which you mean ....

Thanks Arno

You also confuse me a little bit :). You are talking about an error now, do you have some error message?

When you make the animations for the different heights, you need to make sure that they all have the same length (in keyframes) and for best results also have their keys defined at the same frame.

I really the following error ... Please see the photo

Thanks

So, did you check the tooltips are suggested in the error message? Then you will see how many keyframes each of the animations you selected has. You should then see which one is wrong, as they all need to have the same length.

Basically is 2, but you need to make sure that if you have 99 frames for all of them for example, that there is also a key at the last frame.

On a sidenote...

This is possible in FSX using a new method... I spoke to Adrian in ACES recently about getting the videos off him so I can edit them down for a tutorial.

More soon!

Hi Jaime!

What I do and really works...is that once you have finished your first animation (for small aircraft for example), then save and rename that animation -gmax file-, and move the slider full to the right so you are on the last frame, then, you can activate the animate button, and move your jetway parts to fit to the needed height.

Be sure that you don´t add new keyframes, so there is where the error shows!

I can see and manage with frequencies my jetways, but I've got a new problem: When I want to add more jetways, and rename the XML file and put new coordinates, I can see the new jetways but now I have no animation in any of them.

Any Ideas? :)
