MCX Another .dae file import problem

Hi Arno,

I'm guessing that this may have something to do with object complexity and the new Assimp library.

I get this error when I try to import the below attached Collada file:

MCX_error.JPG

I can import other less complex objects with no problem.

Also, the attached file imports with no problems using the MCX version dated 4/9/2020, which I think has the older library.

I'll have a look, but this comes from the Assimp library indeed.

Hi,

I can reproduce the issue here, but I'm not sure there is a lot I can do about it. Your COLLADA file is only a few MB in size, so I don't consider it to be huge or very complex.

Although the new Assimp library version includes useful bug fixes and supports some additional formats, it also seems to give issues with files that could be loaded before without issues. I'm starting to doubt if updating was such a smart move.

Hi,

I think the Assimp build I had included might just have been a bit buggy. I just downloaded a more recent build and with that one I can import your object fine. I will add the newer build to the next development release.
