• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any good free object libraries?

Hello.

I have done a search and nothing came up.

I am looking for good object libraries for FSX. I have read from several sources than some object12 object libraries are incompatible with FSX, so I am hesitant to download any of that.

I wonder whether anyone knows of any decent freeware object libraries that I don't have to mess about in Gmax for etc?

Thanks.

The Rwy12 files *should* almost all work in FSX. Many of these were converted to EZ-Scenery format. There were between 100 to 200 FS9 object libraries made and most will work in FSX. Ones that are for vegetation will probably encounter transparency problems and not be viable.

Avsim should have most of the EZS/Instant Scenery libraries. Just search for Neil Birch, Lou Frost, Sidney Schwartz and a whole lot more that I'll recall somewhere down the road. :o

Hi,

Many Rwy12 libraries will work fine, only transparent textures might give trouble. Most other objects are backwards compatible.

Btw, it does not matter if it is called a Rwy12 library, EZ-Scenery library, Instant Scenery library, etc. The best name would be an object library for FS. There is nothing that makes it specific for an object placement tool, they all work with any placement tool.
