• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Any one ever had this problem?

hi Guys

I've been doing some graphic editing, therefore I haven't touched much of my project's flight dynamics recently... HOWEVER...

Some time ago, I was flying my Turboprop at around FL240, IAS 184, TAS around 278. After probably an hour of flight the Speed drops like a rock, about 20 IAS less, and the nose pitches up to maintain altitude. We're talking about 5° nose up.

Realistically, we're talking as if suddenly the wight shifted to the back of the plane, and you're flying the back side of the power curve.

Problem is, I HAVE NO CLUE why or when it does this. I had a feeling that it happened when the Auxiliary Tanks empty, but I've had it happen last couple of times when I've still got like 10 gallons on each.

Can any one shed me some light here?? I'd appreciate it!!
Thank you

Take Care

I doubt that this behavior is caused by fuel consumption. When the fuel is consumed, the weight is reduced slowly and not suddenly.

Are you sure you don't delpoyed inadvertentely flaps or spoilers?
Or it was maybe the hardware? I owned a yoke that sended automatically some odd commands like gear extension or view switch to FS due to a driver bug.

Did you have real world weather turned on? Due to the sometimes sudden change in wind speed and direction as you move from one area to another you can get some interesting effects due to inertia. E.g. you're cruising at 200KIAS with a 20kt tailwind so your ground speed is 220kts which is what your inertia is calculated from. If the wind suddenly changes to a 20kt headwind, due to inertia you'll initially maintain 220kts ground speed but your KIAS will jump to 240kts until drag etc. take hold (this happens in real life if you hit wind shear, it's just generally not so dramatic).
Obviously if you start off with a head wind and it becomes a tail wind the reverse happens and you could even find yourself stalling.
