• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Autogen and ScenProc

HI, I don't know where to begin, I have tried to create autogen with Scenproc, I run the compiler. read two files, but nothing more happen, I read and see video tutorial, but I feel I am missing something, Scenproc must be is some specific place, so the folders?, I get shapefiles from the net to be sure not were the files what was wrong, but no way, always the same output. (I'm using Scenproc user interface)

I see autogen trees where the concetration of trees are pretty correct, is there a way to make my forests more crowded ?, without touch the Fsx.cfg..and set the slider to max.

You'll need to ensure you have .net version 2.0 installed and also another microsoft database program which have links available on the wiki page for scenproc.

I had a similar issue and figured out I was missing a step. Next week once I have my system rebuilt and if you have more issues I can help you out, unless someone else beats me to it.
 
Hi,

The tool is also case senstive, so you might want to try NOREPROJ, instead of noreproj.

To be able to read shapefiles, you need to have the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 installed...this is what is said in the wiki tutorial, could be the problem ? I'm in 64 bits. anyway I got the Sp1 .we'll see,
Scenproc stop when reading those files, like in the picture and that's all, no warnings, no crashes.
 
Just to tell the story, I tried to actualize Acces Databae engine 2010 but desisted because I had to get rid of the micorsoft office 32 bit version, or something so, well no problem working with 32 bit version.

Not sure yet why it stops. Maybe you can send me the files for testing. I would expect some error or so.

Once I figure out what the problem is, I can add extra feedback and warnings.
 
They are from Geofrabik website, the downloads section of OpenStreemaps Exctracts http://download.geofabrik.de/openstreetmap/europe/azores.shp.zip
thery are for Azores, choose them because they are very light.
I set the path for Sdk fsx, and just choose the folders, etc.
there should be something about the placement of programs or folders I could missed up ?.
I have to admit my knowledge about this is very limited. so you should have to add extra warnings against dumbs, but it's very weird this stop and nothing else, and now stop in the fist line, we are getting better :D
Edit: the .txt file is saved as PKCS#7 (it's a kind of certificate, if could be of help :confused:)

Hi,

I just tried with the current development release, but on my machine it just finishes the whole configuration file and creates AGN files. I takes about 33 seconds to do so.
 
All right, thanks for look into it, you didn't see any weird in my txt file, can you post what the inf file was, please only to see if work here. :duck:
 
I used your configuration file. But do you have the correct database driver installed as mentioned in the manual?

The latest development release will give an error when the driver is not there.
 
But the database was for 64 bit version, isn't ?, the installer said I had to uninstall the 32 bit version of microsoft office vesion, if I not misunderstood, and I then worked with the 32 MCX version. I had the hope I was wrong with the inf file or something so , more confused yet

Hi,

Check the manual again, it also explains how to install the 64 bit driver together with Office 32 bit.

There is no 32 bit scenProc. If you use it on a 64 bit machine, it will run in 64 bit mode.
 
It's working, another question, can be the spc project files be edited, if so, with which one ? would be interesting to be able to copy/paste the parameteres about all the guids..sorry for this silly questions.
 
Hi,

You can edit the configuration file in the editor part of the scenproc tool. So you can copy and paste in there. They are just text files, so you can also open them in notepad.
 
Hi Arno, I didn't understand very well (the editor part of Scenproc), it seem to me that Scenproc not have the copy/paste option, anyway if this can be read with Notepad, great, the issue is that I opened with wordpad and I think had problems to work, I made a new project with the same parameters and worked... making progress.

Let me double check, copy paste should work I think.

Using wordpad or notepad is all ok.
