• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Hello!
I'm wondering if would be possible to create a library with custom object, and place them into my scenery with Autogen. As I've to place several of these building, do it manually one by one might takes weeks!

thanks a lot!

There is something for this, talke a look to the Sdk documentation: Autogen-Edititing the default Xml file-Tutorial:Adding a new autogen class.
Don't know how it work, but would be cool to have you own autogen library.

Yes, adding buildings and other models as autogen is possible using a similar procedure to the one I described in the link Gary provided. It expands your scenery a lot and brings more variation, especially if your library is expansive enough.

Please note that you will still have to draw the footprint for each building individually in the annotator. It will not speed up the process of "planting" them, as you may be thinking. It will only randomly vary the type of model used, according to the grouping.

Thank you guys. The task is only to be able to have different shape of buildings as well as texture in order to create a more realistic autogen. As my scenery will be in Norway I would like to use their typical house color (red & white with dark roof)
