• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Autogen Elephant Preview

I've been experimenting with autogen and have started an autogen wildlife series... The above link has some preview shots...

(I'll edit this post so that it becomes native to this forum as soon as I get a chance)

They look great :). Are you working on other animals as well?

Besides the autogen, you might want to release them as an object library. I think a lot of designers would appreciate that.

I'm hoping to release more animals soon. Cows and horses would be the easiest to implement... It all comes down to what meshes are available for free for me to convert to FS, or going commercial and buying some high quality meshes for downconversion (i.e. reduce polycounts), to FS...

The object libraries would be released alongside the autogen XML, and could be easily included for use with RWY12 etc...

I've also got a default (region code free) version of the Nimitz class carrier as an object library, but I don't want to break any "reverse engineering" laws under Microsoft's licensing agreement...

Same could be done for other region coded MDL's but I haven't gone near that because I don't want to break any laws...

BTW I am also thinking that autogen Tractors could be good... Horses and Cows are a no brainer...

Cats and dogs around houses could be possible... Also cars parked near autogen houses/buildings/farms...

I've even thought of autogen Whales, just slice off the top part of a whale or dolphin mesh and create autogen dorsal fins...

I think autogen is probably one of the most powerful new features in FS, that has yet to be fullly developed and utilized...

Now this is the neatest idea I have seen in a while! Well done!
Cant wait to get my hands on them!

Could I also suggest some autogen Gorillas - I have a scenery in Ndoki Forest Africa I have been working on for a while.

Thanks!

Well, the kangaroo's might be on the boards soon... Gorillas could be possible too...

Do you have lat/lon boundaries for your scenery?
