• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Avatar to hand prop airplane

Has anybody created an animated avatar to hand prop an airplane? An avatar that can be placed in front of a pre-1950 single engine land airplane that goes through the motions of pulling the prop down when automatic engine start is engaged? The height of the hands is not important. Just a general animation for use in creating videos.

Hi,
As it seems to me it does not exist but it is feasible.
That said, there are many potential concerns:
- when to appear and disappear if directly related to the aircraft
- could be defined at Ground Services level, this should be feasible
- Its position and those of its arms depend on the position of the propellers: there is no point in having such a figure which stirs air 1m from the propeller
I’ve already thought about the problem and I’m working on a character like this.

Closest I could find, maybe it will suffice. The model came from CadNav, they do not attribute contributors, the motions are Mixamo and my time is priceless, do with it what you will. Oh ya, speaking of, I had to futz with the scale, I have him set up at 1.5x for this scene and it might be a tad grande. He's set up as a placeable scenery object with a bit of a delay to compose your shots, you can do whatever you want with him, I'll attach the 3ds Max file if anyone wants it.
