• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Sorry, we haven't had time to check into it. 100% of our development time is going into the next update, which we hope will be done soon.

Once that is finished there will be time to take a look at this, and some other issues.

Thanks for your patience. :)

Great/big thank you

Hey, sorry it's been so long.

I have been able to test your image on FSX Planner, and was able to get it to work without any problems.

The only thing I can think of is that it is/was a memory issue. The image is quite large and increased the memory requirements of FSX Planner to about 140MB. Prior to version 23, the maximum memory that FSX Planner would take was 64MB. In version 24 an later, this has been increased to 256 MB. So that may have been causing the problems you were having.

Can you let me know if you are able to view the image in the current release.

-Russell

I have an image that I can't get to show at the proper scale. It's bigger than it should be. I have used the combined coordinates and the top left corner/ bottom right coordinates and it still loads at the wrong scale.
Is there a way to change the scale?
Thanks
Joe W.

Right now there is no way to change the scale.

How off is the scale, just a few feet, or is it off by hundreds of feet?

It's about 50% too large. I deleted that image and deleted it in the folder. I generated another using the top left coords and bottom right coords.. don't know what the difference was but I got one that was in scale that time.
I have another problem ..... when I save to XML and generate the bgl, It keeps adding something to the size. I can move something and I get another 31k added to it.
I have added the XML to this thread.
Thanks
Joe W.

Mise à l'échelle de l'image de fond

 Bonjour,

Dans FSX Planer, comment peut-on dimensionner l'image de fond, afin qu'elle corresponde à la carte graphique de FSX Planner.
Merci:confused:

I'm not sure what you mean by sizing the picture to correspond to the graphics card. I think something was lost in the translation here.

I'm trying to do some work on the north eastern end of RAF Coltishall but have a problem with importing the background image.

I click 'create image' and the google pic appears. I zoom in to where I want to be (north eastern portion of the airfield).
I then resize to 3200x2400 & take a screen shot using 'Snagit'. I then note down the top left & bottom right lats & longs (from the info down the left side) then crop the image so that only the image remains and none of the info to the left of screen.

Problem is that after I have added the lats & longs and add the image to the background of my airport in FSX Planner, the image is way too large and off to one side. I'm certain that I have added the lats & longs correctly & cropped the image accurately so I'm at a bit of a loss as to what's going on.

As always, any help will be greatly appreciated.

PS The image is 179 Kb

Many thanks Lance, you're absolutely right.

Iv'e just tried the same exercise again without re-sizing the picture and it worked perfectly.

I thought that the picture would have been too blurred to use at anything less than 3200x2400 but it's fine.

Cheers

Mike
