Thats where i actually got it my info from...i searched all day yesterday and never thought of searching the avsim forum since Combat Flight Simulator 2 used the same effect engine...then i finally saw it. Its to bad you can only edit certain wav files (ive noticed that some wav. files are not used with fs2004.....yet the names are hard coded and still available)
Here is a light saber i made for JeffS which uses a controller for the distance. Once you come within the distance you will see the lightsaber and the sound of the light saber for a couple of seconds(thats how long the wav. file is without restarting again. Just put the controller and effect in the effects folder and wav. file in the sounds folder and place the controller only using attachpoint in gmax or by placing in xml. Also place the texture in the effects/texture folder.
IMPORTANT!!!! You can not change the wav. file name as this is reconized by the sim. Like i said, there are only a few names that can be used. Also, if you have done this before and have used this file name, it will be overwritten.
