Hi Arno!
I have the development release of MCX (as allways)
I'm converting a bunch of object from FS9 to FSX. One problem I do have, MCX converts the materials as default opaque. My objects are mainly transparent alpha channels. So after batch converting them, I have to re-open them than set to default transparent and export it again.
I think the batch converting part of MCX could be developed further. The material batch tweaking would be a really powerful feature.
My idea is that in the batch converting you would have a full options of an FSX material. Before the batch converting you can select the default values for some parameters. Some parameters you could leave it as it is the MCX would not touch them, would leave the same as in the mdl. But where you add a default MCX convert all material with this setting. For example:
Allow bloom: [all true]
No base material specular: [no change, leave it as in mdl]
No shadow: [all false]
What do you think?
Thanks Arno!
Merry Christmas to all of you!
