• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

Hi guys,

Since the Sikorsky S76 and Bell 222 is nearing release, I figured I work on the Bell 429 (FSX native) to bring it up to date. This one will take a while as I have to configure each model for each specific livery, assign materials for each parts as per the FS2004 release, animate, code, etc. I am building a base model so I can base the other models from, that means building the VIP, EMS, police, SAR models all from one base model. Now that FSX version will have unique features that aren't found on the FS2004 version like pulsating landing lights, 2 different strobe light options and more. More to follow....

Work is continuing at full speed on the Bell 429 for FSX/P3D. Many changes including 3D lights and volumetric rotor effects. I'm slowly but surely building all the different variations as released by @antaris with corresponding liveries to match, 4K textures including diffuse, bump and specular textures are in the works plus a new paintkit. Slated for release this year, but when I'm comfortable to release it as I'm the only one building and coding all models.

Tom Woods has graciously allowed me to convert his Bell 429WLG into FSX native and here are the first export shots. Lots to do, but the base is already done.

Development for the first part of the Bell 429/429WLG GlobalRanger is coming to a close. The WLG version is complete with all gear and related controls in place, it's now in the paintshop getting schemes done. I'm adding some of the original textures to the package, plus a few new textures that were done recently. 4K paintkit is well underway with new bump maps, but it's being done by another developer. There is some code that is giving me issues and will have to correct them before going into beta. So far, this has been one of the best models I've worked on to date, although there was some hiccups along the way. A huge sincere thank you goes out to @antaris for his base model and to @Bluebell for allowing to convert his WLG version from X-Plane to FSX/P3D native. More to come.

The best part of FSX Acceleration/Gold/Steam is the ability to do hoisting and the Bell 429 will have this feature as part of the release package. Cargo hook in the works and will have the ability to pick up objects as well

The Bell 429 for FSX is officially in beta, hopefully it'll be out in due time, depending if there is lots or little to change

4K textures/bump map work in progress. Everything on the original paintkit is getting blown up to 4K resolution, new panel lines, new rivets, new details and more. This is being done by Matt Wynn/Tiger Mouse Design
