• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Block Out The Sun

Good find, this is beautiful!

If you look through the entries you will see that most of the stuff that's hovering in orbit is not active anymore. Debris, nothing more ;)

One of the things NASA requires in their launch windows are the holes in space where they can go 'through' all that space debris. There are windows or holes in the zones that float through overhead at certain times. Waiting for the alignment or synching for that clear zone as well as good weather and light are all tied into the launch. Otherwise they would be plowing through Sat's getting into orbit and making way for the Space Station.

HA! that's interesting Bill, I did not know that. One of these days I can see there being some kind of initiative stirred up to get up there and clean it all up.

Seems like it is cramped up there... one old satellite loses a spare tire and they whack into each other at 15000 km's an hour...

Old Russian Sat takes out a comm's Sat

I was thinking that Regans star wars thing would never work... all you have to do is give 20 satellites a bad speed wobble and we'll never get another rocket through all that space junk again...

I'm actually surprised that some small space rock hasn't set off those domino's ha ha

I really do wonder about the weather thing because I was watching a documentary about where some military fruit loop decided to explode a nuclear weapon up there... which they actually did back in the cold war days... this really screwed up the whole damn aurora belt apparently... but whats interesting is that lightning action on earth actually clears it, and fixes it... lightning heals earths giant magnet... which I thought was amazing...
So now I'm wondering how the lightning feels about a million tin objects up there...

You would think that with all this high tech whiz bang technology... that one little booster, probably just an overgrown aerosol can... would give it a little death throw kick and they'd burn the rubbish in a decaying orbit... I guess adding 2000 dollars to a 25 million dollar sat is out of the question... stupid actually...

OK thats it... no more cell phones... throw the TV's away... we taking it all down because of global warming... ;) ... now watch these scientists start talking about the big freeze thats coming... ha ha

Had to try it... found a space shuttle model... blasted straight up... at 99999 feet it stops, it gets dark and the sun goes out (FS9) ;)
Falls like a rock so I guess no orbit is possible...

You should use FSX. There is no altitude limit, although I doubt that it would actually "orbit" the Earth without giving it any throttle.;)
