• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Bug report for version 21

Okay, let's see...
1. background image - okay, You know it allready

2. exclude rectangles: they just build up in the saved XML; yesterday when I have downgraded the airport from FSX to FS2004, I counted more than 40 excludes where there were only 13 or so distinct ones

3. changing the value in edit boxes does not reflect the change immideately; if possible check RETURN/ENTER key and OnExit event

4. detaching both of the object inspectors (airport stuff - why is not hidden somewhere in the menu, I do not need it all the time) and currently selected item causes very strange behaviour. I have 2 monitors and as soon as I moved them out of my workspace, I couldn't change any parameter of selected item, the object inspector of airport was huge (in height terms).

5. background image importing troubles - if the image is too big to be inserted (and still in the radius of the airport), why not showing some error or warning box? Deleting existing background image is a little bit clumsy, why not right mouse button click and delete in pop-up menu?

6. exporting the scenery; why the heck FSXP at the first compile in the session wants to export the airport as Ljubljana LJLJ instead of LJLJ_GND as is the name of XML and I have typed this in the box numerous times and set the checkbox remember this name? Also, a button to check for errors and clean up stuff could be on this window too...

This is small list of problems I have encountered and I remember from the head. Still there are many things that can be done (to-do list) with this extremely useful and nice software!

Best regards,

It seems that the compilation is done by default with the description FSX name (but you can change the name from FSXPlanner).
Because of this, since I have been working with SVBC, that default name is:
Gen. Jose Antonio Anzoategui I SVBC

The dot after "Gen" produce some effect that will not allow FSX to read that BGL (will be discarded).

There must be several abreviations like this (with an intermediate dot) in the airport names in FSX.

I would suggest that the BGL be saved by deafault, either with the ICAO code or with the FSXplanner file name.

I have not experienced a user entered name change, so far.

Another problem I have found related with the locking module.
I find the lock feature very useful and I believe that the way it has been implemented is really a good way.

But when I manipulate some "locked" features like for example a start node, and I click in the wrong place, I produce effects as an unwanted taxiway connection with some far node (hard to explain in an accurate way).
This problem happens with a frequency I did not experience before build 21.

No need to be locked, it can happen with unlocked nodes too  And usually it makes a new taxiway or whatever and the second node is placed over ARP (at least in my case).

Hey so ur saying theres nothing wrong when u try and start a new airport via
File>New Airport??

If no heres what i did is something wrong?

I edited the La Guardia XML and moved it and saved it as something else and i had the same Problem as Jalsina where it makes a random taxi way to the middle of no where and whats an ARP???

Can you site a specific example of this? Also, what operating system are you using?

Thanks.

here are a couple from me (Russell- I hope you dont take any of these as criticisms etc....it is fantastic software!)

Is it possible to either a) give the option to change the size of the apron vertices or b) change the size of the apron vertices from an absolute value (i.e. Metres) to a pixel size value (i.e. size on screen regardless of zoom level) Im finding it hard to accurately place apron vertices when at max zoom levels.
Im also having problems like inadvertantly selecting other aprons when digitising a new one close to another...

are the exclude rectangles in the XML supposed to exclude default aprons? Mine dont??...could be user error though?

Possibly, we'll look into this.

Default aprons are removed by using the Delete Apron tag. You can set this in the Compile -> Prepare Options dialog.

For immediate post without ENTER there are numerous cases (i.e. change value and go to another control with mouse), like changing the parking spot size, taxiway width, etc. Usually ENTER does the trick but I have found in some cases it does not. I think one is Airport test radius but I'll take a detailed look in the nearest future ;)
Otherwise Win XP Sp2, Slovenian language (with decimal comma not point as standard).

I am not able to duplicate this. If I set the width of a taxiway either by using the up/down arrows, or by entering a new width directly the taxiway is instantly redrawn with the new width. This is also the case for parking spot sizes as well.

Perhaps you are doing something different from what I am doing?
