• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello John, is bulk replace available in AIFP? I can only Bulk Subtitute and it takes time as it scan all the aircraft folder, Hope you could add this option please, Thank you.

First of all, it's "Don". "Jon" is the ADE guy.

Please define "bulk replace" and how it differs from AIFP's existing bulk substitute function, i.e. the ability to substitute multiple aircraft in a flight plan file with a specific other aircraft.

I can't envisage a bulk aircraft replacement or substitution function that doesn't scan and generate a list of all available aircraft

Sorry Don, bulk Subtitutes takes time to load all the aircraft and takes time again for searching the aircraft, while in replace you can add the aircraft in the list and can be replace by AC# does if you bulk replace it will be less time as you can just type the AC#, Thank you Don.

You seem to be focused on the time it takes to scan the aircraft folders rather than the operation of the function.

You called the function you wanted "Bulk replace". But your description suggests only a single aircraft is involved. AIFP can already do that.

I don't understand what you mean by "and can be replace by AC# ", since in adding a single aircraft t the list you would already have specified AC#.

Please describe in detail, step-by-step, what you want to be able to do and the expected result for each step.

Hello sir, Right now if you bulk select AC you cannot replace it by AC# but only substitute, only a single aircraft can be replace by AC#. Thus if i want to replace 20 aircraft I have to do it one by one, and if i bulk select to replace diff aircraft It will take time cause subtitute will be use and everytime i use subtitute it will always scan first all the aircraft installed then scan again when i filter the aircraft that i want to replace, Hope you got what i mean sir. All im asking is, if it is possible to also add the option replace when bulk selecting aircraft. Thank you sir.

Yes, I now understand (with some difficulty) what you want. If it can be implemented without a significant development effort I will do so.

In future, It would be very helpful if you refer to AIFP functions/controls by their formal name and focus on what you want rather than what you don't want. Had you mentioned that the Aircraft List context menu item Replace was disabled when more than one aircraft was selected and you wanted it to operate on multiple aircraft, I would have known immediately what you wanted.
