• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

[C#] Multiple AI - how to set DATA_REQUESTS - Enum problem

Hi all,

First of all, i would like to wish you all the best for this new year 2017 !

I contact you for the first time because i really need your help. Like some users there, i am trying to use the manages code C# to implement a Simconnect code.

I would like to create multiple AI Aircraft. I succeed create one or two but if i want to use a For {int i =...} to create, let say 100 AI aircrafts, i have to find a solution to create by the run time 100 Data Requests.

I found this thread or that one on this forum and hopped they would help me but unfortunatly they didn't ;-(

Beatle explains that he uses that following code to create an AI where he increases the AircraftCount variable for each new aircraft and where AIAircraftBase is an Enum. What a good idea !

enum Requests
{
SomeRequest,
AnotherRequest,

AIAircraftBase = 0x00100000,
OtherRequestBase = 0x00200000,
}

AICreateSimulatedObject("de Havilland Dash 8-100", initpos, (uint)AIAircraftBase + AircraftCount);

But : i uses C# (Visual studio express 2013) and P3D Simconnect SDK tells me to use the following code :

public enum DATA_REQUESTS
{
REQUEST_1,
REQUEST_NEW_AI = 0x00100000, // here's the example we're interested in
REQUEST3 = 0x00200000, // this entry ensures a large range is free
}

AICreateParkedATCAircraft("PROSIM_737_800_Winglets_Prosim_Livery", "N1001", "KSEA", DATA_REQUESTS.REQUEST_NEW_AI + AircraftCount);

If i replace DATA_REQUESTS.REQUEST_NEW_AI by (uint)DATA_REQUESTS.REQUEST_NEW_AI i have a code Exception......The Debugger tels me i have to use a SYSTEM.Enum...

so........I really need your help.......
Hope someone will find a solution....

Friendly,
Thierry

I found a solution :

++aiIndex; ///aiIndex is an int ; init value = 0
DATA_REQUESTS REQUEST_NEW_AI = (DATA_REQUESTS)aiIndex; ///<------ that's what was missing in my knowledge to create new enum at runtime....
tableauAircraft = new AIAircraft(REQUEST_NEW_AI);
tableauAircraft.CreateParkedAicraft(mySimConnectConnexion, "KSEA", REQUEST_NEW_AI);

Have a nice week.

Thierry
