• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Cannot exclude double Matitone tower

For Genova I have the BMW LIMJ airport which also includes several city objects like the Matitone tower.
Also I use DAX Genova city plus Harbor which also includes the Matitone tower.

I made a small exclude rectangle file to remove the BMW version but that did not work.
Then I made an exclude rectangle file as large as the complete port but that also did not remove one of them.
Tried with several priorities by changing the name. No result.

Excluding the default Asobo lighthouse (also one in Dax scenery ) worked straight away.

All advised are welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Gerard

Enable debug model lods to make sure that the big pencil is a single object and to find its origin point

Some more info here

Also, looks like the Matitone in your screenshot is part of some Google ripped photogrammetry

If so, you have to remove the whole Dax photogrammetry object (I bet is a single one)

It is correct that DAX scenery is a Google based scenery. But it looks far more realistic than the default Genova city.
Therefore I tried to exclude the BMW tower but did not succeed either.

The BMW scenery consists of a library bgl + scene bgl file ….

Excludes work on default objects, so we can add scenery. If you have an added scenery you wish to exclude, you can do so by removing it. Beyond the Community and Official folder levels, there is no real "priority," all content in each is loaded and Community trump's Official, so there is no way for an addon exclude, to exclude some other addon.

Hi Rick,

As per SDK notes, proved by the video above, you can always exclude user added content.
Being that easy or hard is upon what you want to exclude

The content is loaded according to the content.xml order, wich, when generated, is ordered like this
Fs-base stuff
Official folder
Community folder
All in lexicographic order

Don't know what do you mean by trump's order

Hi guys,

I have tried an exclusion rectangle with properties :
- AllObjects
- Library objects
- Rectangle

Still the Matitone tower from Genova airport remains where it is.
I have tried with the exclusion file being loaded after the airport and last after airport and city.

It seems that only one of the developers can fix this.

@GSalden

if your goal was to exclude the Matitone from BMW, here is the homework done

As suggested in the video, to exclude something you need to know where the origin point of the object is (by enabling debug model lods)

in the specific case, in the BMW scenery the Matitone is not a single object, but is connected with other buildings, making the GenoaCity object, and the origin of this object is right at intersection of the autobahn there

I have included full project folder

the following is the contet.xml order to make the thing working

Code:
<Package name="bmw-airport-limj-genoa" active="true"/>
    <Package name="mamudesign-limj-excl" active="true"/>
    <Package name="italy_genova 2.2" active="true"/>

Thank you very much !
It is working perfectly. One Matitone tower now.

Today I tried for 2h to delete the Dax Matitone tower and even used the towers ID. However I did not succeed.

You have deleted the BMW version which is much smarter.

Thank you again. I will look into your files so can learn from it.

With just 1 lighthouse and 1 Matitone tower it looks awesome now…

All credits to you
