• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Catapult Start Points

Some notes on setting up Catapults:
-Apparently there is a maximum distance cat start points can be from the center of the ship model, which appears to be about a 70 meter radius. I'm pretty sure the SDK does NOT mention that! It would have been REAL nice to know 3 days ago...
-I've seen some posts that say the "C" in attachpt_catapult_start_n needs to be capitalized, but I've had good function either way. The only thing I've seen mentioned in the SDK as case sensitive are XML conditionals (if, else, ect).

Confirmed. If you happen to exceed that distance you'll likely end up wondering what again you did wrong with the attach points or get a bit suspicious concerning your own IQ.
SDK documentation is a wonderfull thing and it gets even better when you realise that none of it has been written by people having anything to do with the coding, but come on... what the sleazy secretaries normally get paid for...

Oh.. and BTW, did someone mention that attachpt_catapult_start_n has to be oriented so that its (-1, 0, 0) vector has to go along catapult rail direction?
I wonder what the hell is this for? Couldn't they just calculate the cat_rail direction using both attachpt_catapult_start_n and attachpt_catapult_end_n points? This would quickly give both the rail direction and the cat's length....
 
FSX Carrier Ops Multiplayer

Is it possible for the OLS (meatball), the catapult,and ILS system to function in multiplayer if a carrier is made with these incorporated... and distributed to players ????
