• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 Chocks

I was able to design these in Sketchup - export a Collada - create an mdl in MDCx and add them with a lot of experimentation for placement to the Cessna 172C model. It even opens up nice in Prepar3D V4.5 with the chocks in place. Now my problem. I thought I remembered how to get them to be removed when I want to taxi/takeoff but no luck. I am attaching the model file. Can someone please attack the visibility issue for me and then let me know what command will remove them before flight? I want to learn more by coming here so if you can explain to me how, clearly for a sheer novice I save these posts for me to get back to sometimes in a year and they refresh my old memory. Thank you for taking the time to help.

I know this is not difficult but just can't remember how (76 yrs old this Tuesday) They say that when you get older the first thing to go well, maybe the second thing (won't go there LOL) is your memory but I can't remember what either of them is. Anyway I was sincerely hoping that someone would have jumped onto this for me. I have already looked online for the answer and all I found was a very confusing ACES SDK answer that just confused me more. Modeldef.xml custom animation? OK how, please? Once it's explained I can add them to other GA aircraft in my hanger. Thank you to whoever.

I have been trying to do this myself after doing research and looking at other mdl's like MV B55 that have chocks. Their visibility condition said: prop_0_still. So I opened up my Cessna C172 chock.mdl in Model Converter X and in the object editor changed the visibility from none to prop_0_still. You can see from the photo that the chocks are still visible even though the prop is spinning NOT STILL. It doesn't care whether the prop is animated or still. SO WHY???

Milviz B55 I see after unpacking their gauge CAB has xml code for the "preflight" that has code for the pilot, chocks and engine covers that is a gauge in the panel folder. Do I need to write a gauge to have these in place or removed? I seemed to remember that in the P2V Neptune I created chocks for that just the visibility had to be modified and then a new model exported and that worked with a custom modeldef.xml that was already in the model I piggybacked onto. When pilots were removed the chocks were visible and vice versa.
