• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v2 Colorado Springs Airport (KCOS)

Really nice job so far on the modelling and texturing. Everything is incredibly detailed. I'm looking forward to see this airport come together overall.

Cheers,

How are we looking on this? I'm willing to contribute some funds if that'll help motivate you to complete this. Don't let all those reference photos I took go to waste!! ;)

Work is progressing slowly. In the last few months some weirdness has been going on which has led to me basically living in two places at once, so I can only work 3 days a week at the moment. I'm considering bringing some people on board for some things, otherwise it's gonna take forever to finish.

I am intrigued by your project and it's motivated me to get 3dsmax working again. I want to thank you for uploading your video to YouTube as well in regards to texture baking. You are an exquisite teacher and hope one day to use not only your scenery, but your techniques in future videos as well.

Thanks to you I have successfully managed to bake some really cool shadows on my boring models.

I wish you good luck on your Colorado Springs project and your schooling as well.

Ryan.

Looks phenomenal. Was just there a couple months ago (lived there for years in the past) and I was thinking someone needs to do a good COS. You're capturing it wonderfully! I hope you see it through to completion. Definitely on my wish list!

Jason,

Just wanted to let you know that there are some major changes on the GA side of the airport. Cutter is building an whole new terminal and massive new hangar right next to Jet Center, on the opposite side of where they are located now. I'm not sure if you're still working on this thing, but if you are, let me know and I will try to get some detailed photos for you when they are done. Hangar and FBO are currently only framed out at this time so no point in taking photos just yet. They're moving fast though so I would suspect sometime this fall/winter they will be done.

Todd

I have been tracking this thread for the longest time, but never jumped in because of real life work load. But I did want to say that as someone who sees KCOS a lot (my home airport is down here at KPUB) I am so eager to see this project come to fruition. I currently run only P3Dv4 but any scenery from FSX on up automatically works in v4 anyway with no issues at all.

I'll actually be flying into KCOS on Tuesday night, so I might be able to grab a few reference shots if you still need them, but they will all be from the Tarmac side in the GA area if at all.
