Hi everyone,

I am having some trouble after I animate my control surfaces. All the pivots are in their correct places before the question is asked. I have the control surfaces animated (ailerons, elevator, rudder), but they seem out of place. is there a step I am missing to get them to work correctly? Any help is appreciated.

Man, this was just happening to someone... A helicopter as well, I think a gyro.

It ended up that the parts they were linked to were in the wrong locations or something. Redoing the animations made the parts to animate correctly.

There must be a simple reason for this. Make sure you clear/reset all the 'scale's on the parts in question. That would usually do this. Do this also for parts they are linked to as 'sometimes' Hierarchy parent parts can effect its children parts via scale properties. Not always, but rarely, at least for me they have in the past..

What parts are they?

Also, be sure you have the correct animation amounts in the Animation Manager if you are doing this in FSX format. Same with FS9, make sure your KF's are correct. Go to 101 and you are messed up...

Bill,

Its the elevators and ailerons at the moment, haven't gotten to the rudder yet. The plane in question is Erick Cantu's Embraer EMB120 Brasilia which will be in FSX format when done. The plane is in gmax format.

I have this issue with Flaps. They locate to wierd points or dont go all the way to set positions, but usually only in FSX with the first version of Flaps animation choices. With Flaps, I would circulate through the Flaps animation choices till one finally worked, resetting each time.

I have never had issues though with Ailerons, thank goodness. I wonder if the Ailerons are a 'config file' issue/setting?
