• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi guys,

I've got new motivation to work on models again (see Fokker thread for update on that).
I have made some drastic changes to all those projects I had running...... yeah they are all cancelled except for the F130.
With my new found motivation and inspiration I have decided to make one of my all time favorite aircraft, and that is the Convair 440 (and it's family members).
I am actually extremely excited to make this plane, more than any other plane in the past.

I have a few plans with this model, but one of the main plans is PBR texture support, but that is for the future ;)

Here are a few shots of how far I've gotten.

Osian, Is there one only aircraft you finished and released so far?

Since you've begun to work on the Embraer in your profile Avatar, there has been tonns of aircraft development announcements... but no one got even finished or released so far...
It feels like every two months or so, you're announcing a new aircraft development...

...and two months later it gets discontinued... due to lacking interest and motivation on further development...

I ammend you to stick on one aircraft at a time... and developing it till it's fully done...

I explained in the post that I have found new inspiration, also the Embraer was never officially announced unless I miss something.
Let me explain a bit more, I have been cancelling projects because they were not fun and were actually dragging me down.
I kept making things people wanted to see, but I never made something I wanted (apart from the F130 which is still in development).
When you make things you don't like, it can cause depression, which happened to me and pretty severe as well (also other things happened which caused that but that is not important).
I decided to start the CV-440 because I really like the plane and want it in my sim.
And for me working on one aircraft at a time is really dragging me down, always the same thing isn't fun, I like to have fun

I hope it clears it up a bit.

You could also upload those Blender files that you know you're never going to touch again to save others who are interested in those airplanes some time.

Where could I upload them, like dropbox or something ?
I think it is a good idea

I wonder if anyone has some details shots of the CV-440?
It's quite difficult getting proper images of the plane.

Thanks :)

Didn't Google find anything?

Airliner Tech #12 ("Convair Twins"; ISBN-10: 1580070736) has some good 3-views.

Well, this went surprisingly well.
This is the first time applying textures to this model.
