• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

FSX ConverterX Error

All of a sudden, while I was converting some .dae to .mdl the converter stopped working.
I rebooted, delete and reinstall the program but no luck.
I am using the converter for a long time without a glitch.

Now I have the window saying "ConverteX stopped working" and in the details:

Hi,

Unfortunately that error does not contain much useful information.

Did you make any changes to your system recently? For example updating video drivers or something like that?

Thank you for the reply.

I didn't change anything.
It happened while I was converting dae into mdl.
I was doing 55 buldings and sudenly on the 56th it stopped working.
I rebooted and I had the same problem.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and again is doing the same thing.

I installed the same zip file (ModelConverterX_120.zip) that I had, in another computer, and is doing the same thing. ?????

Is it only that one building that fails or do all your objects now fail?

It might also be a good idea to try the development release, instead of version 1.2. In the development release there are a lot of improvements.
 
I downloaded the development release and it is working fine.
I am able to convert again dae to mdl.
I don't know what to say?

I haven't changed anything in my PC other than my video card 6 months ago
Radeon 6870, a new motherboard Asus M5990X EVO and a new CPU X8150 about 3 months ago.
I have used your converter extensively converting over 400 models, some of them with 65 textures, the last year or so.
I have put your tool to the test for sure. It is a great program and I thank you for that.

I also don't understand why it would suddenly stop working. But glad to hear you got it running again.
