• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I can't seem to convert xml parts from fs9 to fsx.
The visibilty works and my animation shows up in the manger.
But I have no mouse control in game. Default animation works.
But my custom parts fail to read the mouserect or something.

Please help!

<PartInfo>
<Name>seat_forward</Name>
<AnimLength>100</AnimLength>
<Animation>
<Parameter>
<Code>
(L:random_4, bool) 100 *
</Code>
<lag>100</lag>
</Parameter>
</Animation>
<MouseRect>
<Cursor>Hand</Cursor>
<Tooltip_Text>Adjust Seat</Tooltip_Text>
<Callback_Code>
(L:random_4, bool) ! (&gt;L:random_4, bool) 1 (&gt;L:XMLSND26,enum)
</Callback_Code>
</MouseRect>
</PartInfo>

'lag' should be 'Lag'.

I am surprised I was able to see it.

There could be more that I dont see.

Note, if something stops working, open the parts XML sheet with Windows Internet Explorer (IE) and it will auto-detect-find (usually) the fault in the code.

I used to DREAD conversion to FSX from FS9... My eyebrows always know when the week is approaching that I need to do this....

Hi Lionheart

Well after some more testing tonight here is what I came up with.

I think every code will have to be converted perfect.
Many of the ones that use custom animation needs another type
of formula that I don't have.

I tested a tail hook that I found on a website. When you click the tail hook
all of my custom animation moves in the vc. lol :duck:

So they only way this is ever going to work is to have a few samples of custom animation.

Maybe callbackcodes and others...
but for sure, knobs that use 360 animation and simple toggle switches.

I remember one time bill gave me a working xml for knobs from his fsx.
I had to tweak them to work for fs9.......

So please post some working samples of custom animation from simple switches to knobs.....

Please.....:duck:

I am away from my main computer so I can't send over code, but here is something I found out that sounds like your problem. Remember that you absolutely cannot use the same command statements in other codes or they will animate alike, at the same time. For instance, yours,

(L:random_4, bool) ! (&gt;L:random_4, bool)

If you use 'random_4' in anything, it will 'short out' (if you would) all codes that use that command statement. You have to learn to write those cryptically, like with caps on, specific titles etc.

Bill

Thanks

Thanks bill, That's where I have been getting my samples since 2010...There is not a single FSX toggle switch on that forum.

Thanks Lionheart....

Oh I see what you mean.....

So make (L:Window_1, bool) (L:Window_2, bool)

(L:LeftWindow, bool)
(L:RightWindow, bool)
