• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello folks,

I got an idea for making an new addon aircraft, apsolutly new thing for me and new experience. So, can you tell me, how do I start making it? After modeling and texturing it, how can I get my new aircraft flying in FS?

Thank you so much,

Teo

You shoudn't say search before asking, becouse you don't know dlI did a search or not.
I did a search on google, many threads was found, everything with different steps, I didn't want to mess up with everything, so decided to ask here.
Is everything okay now?

Search the forum here, is what he meant. It's too specialized an area for Google to be of real use. Any good links would point you here anyway.

I'm not exaggerating a bit when I say asking such a question is actually more involved than asking how to assemble an aircraft from a pile of parts you found in the hanger. There is a wicked amount of "stuff to learn" to create, compile and get any aircraft in the sim... :duck:

If you had searched sincerely, you wouldn't have asked in such broad terms.
And there are no "different steps", at least outside of the content creation tools. FSX requires specific file structures and file formats for the sim to "see" and use aircraft.

You're a scenery designer, so you at least have model and texture creation down. Aircraft models require animations for moving parts and these are built into the model file. With models and textures, you have two out of five elements required to get an add-on aircraft running in the simulator. Find the other three.

Read the SDK section "New aircraft methods" for GUID, friendly name and other considerations.

I need the process after the modeling, I got the model already.

Assigning flight dynamics, a panel and sounds is part of the process if you want to see the aircraft in the simulator.

Don't forget animating the model, although checking whether it exports okay should be your first order of business.

Looks like hard process, I have to finish my scenery now while my friend is making the cockpit, thank you anyway to everyone.

Somebody may close this thread, thank you all once again!
