• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

Hello,

this is my first little "project" and so it is the first thread I am opening here!

I like the Boeing 767 very much but there is no real good realisation (except the LevelD 767, but it is very outdated...), so I took the CaptainSim 767 and modified the vc textures a bit.
My new textures are in 4096x4096 resolution...

--- All pictures are Work in Progress ---

But now my first shots:

The new checklist on the yoke:

The MIP is nearly ready...

And a bit improved night lightning:

I hope I can manage to change the resolution of the gauges, too...

What do you think?

Best regards
Matthias

Hallo Matthias,

I like your texture work. But on the checklist, it should read "PRESSURIZATION", shouldn't it? ;)

Cheers :)

Thank you...

But there is still a long way to go...

I started with the most "important" but I will try to change the gauges and the "unimportant" textures, too...

What do you think about the colour of the textures in the last picture?
Are the textures dark enough or too dark?

With the sun shining on my display I would say it's a tiny little bit dark. But I think it looks very realistic the way it is anyway. Keep it up!

First a night shot, i made the textures a bit brigher:

And now I have a little question regarding the gauges...
In the sim the look blurred but the original gauge files look pretty sharp:

(On the left side P3D, on the right side the original gauge file form the .cab)

Does anybody know (of course anybody here does.... :D), where I have to change some values, to get sharper gauges?

Thanks!

The gauge is rendered in the resolution specified in the panel.cfg. Have a look at pixel_size = 1024,1024 and set it to 4096.

Yes, I tried this, but then all gauges are very, very small and not on its place...
Do I have to adjust the position of the gauges in the panel.cfg too?

I tried it and i tried it... but I can't get it working the way I want....

This is my panel.cfg:
Code:
[VCockpit01]
//file_1024=GSSP.bmp
size_mm=1024,1024
pixel_size=4096,4096
texture=$CGSP
background_color=0,0,0
gauge00=Captain_Sim.b767.sound!main, 0,0,1,1,    Captain_Sim\767\sound.ini

...

But the gauges won't get sharper...

Is there any other value I can change to get sharper gauges?

What about changing
Code:
size_mm=1024,1024

to

Code:
size_mm=4096,4096

Hope this works ;-)

This is looking superb Matthias! I've also done some minor VC texture editing for my Milviz 737 but your work is far superior in quality!

Quick question: I assume that the font you're using for the text is Century Gothic with a bit of kerning applied?

Thanks for the kind words!

Code:
size_mm=4096,4096
This does not work, too... I tried it several times, but it doesn't change anything...

I won't edit the gauges, that's not really working...
Then there is not much work left...

I am using Futura... It looks most real...
