• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello all , I have a problem with ground poly lines , for example in this view you cant see them:

but in topdown camera after a specific zoom level they will appear:

I tried to check it with _alt.bgl file in (P3D Scenery/world folder) and then deleted that file , no changes at all. Then I changed GP offset again not fixed.

Thanks for your help in advance.

If you have a flatten at ARP elevation, then the next step is to forward your .ad4 file.

Also, you posted about an "argument out of range" exception in another thread that appeared to relate to ADE_GPO. That message apparently did not register properly in the forum and the thread doesn't seem to be available. If you are still experiencing the error, please repost and supply the .ad4 file you are attempting to compile.

Hello Again Mr. Don . That problem was solved Thanks for your asking.

I did not make a flatten for my scenery yet and I attached my Ad4 file here , if there is any texture needed tell me I will sent it for you.

Thanks for your help

If you don't have a flatten and the terrain is not absolutely flat, then it is highly unlikely that GPs will display as intended.

Please add the flatten and re-test. If it still doesn't work, then send me the .ad4 file (including the flatten). Also, since your GP textures are entirely custom, I'll also need your Textures and Textures_Dpy folders and your Textures_Def.txt and Lines_Def.txt files.

I don't, of course, have your aerial photo. But without them, your GPs display normally.

I note you are using PV3. Perhaps there's some known difficulty using aerial photos, with PV3. Or, perhaps your aerial photos are configured incorrectly. Hopefully, someone more familiar with the use of aerial photos will "jump-in" and offer you some assistance. Having proven that your GP's display normally in the absence of the photos is about all I can do.

I would note that the latest version of ADE does not support PV3. So, you seem to be using relatively old tools.

It was working before then I edited a line and forgot to resize it in gp editor. when I clicked on compile, it opened a dialog about it and I resized it from that Dialog after compiling everything disappeared. My ade version is 178 and Gp editor is latest update.

You seem to have missed the fact that, on my system, using YOUR .ad4 file without the aerial photo, the GPs display normally. May I suggest you explore whether the GPs are being drawn on yours but are being hidden by something else (e.g., your aerial photo) by suppressing the "something else", or are not being drawn at all.

Can you Please send the GP exported with your ADE? I checked without anything and still not showing, I dont know why It was showing very well.

Please bear in mind, the attached files were generated for, and run on PV4. I no longer have a version of ADE that will generate PV3 files. Nonetheless, the files should be identical (at least the _GP file will be) as if generated for PV3

Good news is It will appear for a second then disappear and default Runway textures are now visible. I'm trying to debug it with P3D forum , will update if I found fix for it Thanks for your helps.

That suggests you have another addon that is affecting the airport/area.
Hello Again , I made a custom line on my old scenery file and It appears.

in first try I disabled any photo sceneries and meshes and etc...
1633167140523.png

then I enabled everything such as photoscenery and line is visible
1633173905341.png

but other scenery file ground poly is not showing and both cases :/

Then I would be tempted to investigate why the GPs didn't show up in the first case. I've shown you that, under normal circumstances (i.e., on my system) the lines are drawn. So, I would be most surprised if they are not being drawn on yours. The question is, why can't you see them. Do you have more than one copy of your airport active? Do you have any other scenery/add-on that affects the local area? etc.

Is there anyway to export this lines and import it into another ade file?

I think problem is with GP editor elevation Because when I create new ground poly in other sceneries It show in this scenery too but when I create new ground poly in this ade file it doesnt appear :(

?????????

As I have noted on two previous occasions, when your .ad4 file is compiled and displayed under normal circumstances (like on my system), the GPs display as they should. I even sent you a picture. Nonetheless, if you believe its an elevation issue, change their elevation by specifying a different offset at compile time. (Normal is 7mm). Make it as large as you like.

EDIT: Also, please confirm you don't have an errant/no-longer-required elevation stub in your Scenery\World\scenery

yes I use offset about 10 mm.
and for elevation stub , Every time when I compile airport I have and ALT.bgl file in That folder , Should I have to Delete that?

No you shouldn't have to. But, you are looking for an unusual situation on your system - something only you can do. So you should be deleting files temporarily - like crazy - and trying other things to diagnose what that situation is. You don't have to ask me if you should do something. Do it! If it doesn't help, then restore what you did. You really can't do any harm so long as you accurately restore things afterwards.

As for the offset, I really wasn't asking you what offset you were using. I was simply making you aware of the default value. Under your circumstances,10 is the same as 7. What I was encouraging you to do was to increase the offset to 1-5-10-50, whatever meters, to help see what might be hiding your GPs. (I know they are being drawn; you just can't see them for whatever reason.)
