• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Custom Ground Line Flickers

Hi Team.

So I tried to add the custom ground line for making yellow strips that are on the edges of the runway. So everything goes well but those lines in the sim when I get close to them it starts flickering.
I read some posts and found out that we have to elevate the lines. But I m not sure how to do that. Please help me to remove the flickering.
 
On the compile dialog there a place to enter an offset.

Also, if you haven't done so, it may help to flatten the airport to the ARP elevation.

@gadgets Yes i had put offset at 2mm and 7mm but it didn't work. If by flattening the airport you mean using Airport Background/Flatten Mask Class Map Exclude autogen, I have already done it. If there's any other way to flatten the airport let me know.

These are short yellow lines that are on the side of the runways
Not sure what u mean by layering

7 is the default. If it still flickers at 7, it will certainly do so at 2. Use a larger elevation - 10, 15, whatever it takes

No, so long as the flatten elevation is exactly the same as the ARP elevation, you shouldn't have any problems.

If a moderate increase in GP elevation doesn't do the trick, please post your AD4 file and identify which version of Flightsim you are using..
 
By layering I mean that you have to add a negative layer number to your lines.
If you have a Ground Poly underneath, the GP lines would have to have a more negative number than the Ground Polygon otherwise they flicker because they are at the same layer.
 
Roby, the negation of layer numbers for Z-Bias is automatic with ADE-GPO.
 
If its properly flattened, you shouldn't need that much - unless the airport is adjacent to, or the runway is very close to unflattened, very rough terrain.

That being said if 15 works ….
