    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

Hi there,
I still have a problem with my papi's covered by groundpoly. I'm trying to coming out. During some research oh the net, I found a couple of interesting macro and scasm sources for custom PAPI. I would like to share with you, hoping that someone more skilled than me, can found a solutions for custom papi.

Ok guys,
I succesfully placed a working PAPI with the model built in the bgl. Works perfect but my aircraft model disappear :D I guess that's why in the readme file there's "only for fs2002". Here's the source of main api:
Code:
;Papi Lights and generated from Gmax
;
;Use only for FS2002. Not compatible with earlier versions of MS Flight Simulator
;
;Use in Airport for Windows:
;1. Scale: 0.5
;2. Set heading to the runway heading.
;3. Align by dragging the small square such that the big square
; which represents the innermost PAPI box is right where you want
; it in relation to the runway.
;
;IMPORTANT:
;----------
;Make sure you have the correct papi.bgl file properly install in your
;local scenery folder:
;Filename: papi 22KB BGL File 8/30/02 6:31 AM
;
;By Manny Aquino
;PFSG - Surabaya
;Tools used: Gmax and FSRegen.
;PAPI logic taken from Manfred Moldenhauer's PAPI Macro
;
;For Freeware use only

I would like to know what's the difference between this code and the same for fs2004. It looks like same.

Hi,

I have no idea why your aircraft would dissapear. Did you use the library together with the API as instructed?

The code looks OK (although a bit complex with all the object calls for such a simple object).

Yes, I've just compiled my scasm source and placed in the scenery folder with the "papi.bgl" file included. Looks and works ok, but my aircraft disappear (I see only its lights!). Deleting the two files, all backs ok

Hi,

I just have installed the API in AFW 2.6 (running FS2002) and set it on a scale of 1.00 (otherwise I didn't see the PAPI light system... 4 lights... just what I was searching for.). But my aircraft also disappears when at a certain position to the lights.
Have you found meanwhile a solution ?

Greetz. José.

Thanks for the macros! I was able to load the them to Fs Architect and compile them into bgl format. They work perfectly in FSX but the colour of the macros is black. Is it supposed to be that way and is it possible to change?

Hi,

Today I installed this Papi API and had already forgotten that I did this before a couple of months ago. :rolleyes:
So my aircraft still disappears. No solution in sight ? Other file perhaps ?

Greetz. José.

I tried with Airport for Windows and it works also fine in FSX. I think that without the source file you cannot correct the texture. But a black Papi is OK for me, hà. :p

At least something that will work in FSX. José.
