• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

Custom VTP textures+autogen

Hi, guys!
I have a problem:
i have did a set of terrain textures for fs9 and loaded them into sbuilder as a "named", compile was OK - i saw the textures in FS, but there is no autogen(i have made the *.agn too with annotator). I was trying to load them as assembled but the result was the same, also i tried to proper name the textures like in terrain SDK but still no results.

Please, maybe somebody knows the trick how to switch the autogen on or the information where that's described? i will appreciate that...thank you.

Hi there,

sorry, no autogen possible with custom VTP textures in FS9 (works in FSX). You'll have to either use default land class textures or place your textures as if you were doing photoreal ground.

Cheers, Holger

Thank you for the answer, Holger. I have figured out how to position autogen with fake custom terrain, but this will be a nightmare:) i decided to make real custom terrain instead, this will be better...
